Fenland Jam
Fenland Jam will be holding their monthly meets at Ely Beet Sports and Social Club on Lynn Road, Ely. Come along and have a go at playing a song with the Fenland Jam Band and other attendees. All equipment is provided by Fenland Jam. These events will be held on the last Monday of each month from 7 - 9:30pm. The upcomingdates for these are the 28th June, 26th July and the 30th August. Entry will be £2 to cover hall costs etc.
Fenland Jam will also be at Wicken Fete (26th June), Ely Aquafest (4th July) and on the Jubilee Gardens Banstand Ely (21st August) this year.

A Rock College Course - Band 101
So can you can play a bit but you don't know anyone else to play with?
This weekend course should be the first point of call for any budding, bedroom musician. Band 101 will put you in a band for a weekend with other musicians just like yourself. You will learn the basics of playing with other musicians, a hugely beneficial experience that is not only fun but will speed up your own progress on your instrument and give you a better all round musical understanding. For older musicians this course will also touch on basic music business. For younger ones it's more about fun with a few music related games thrown in.

Wacky Races
The Village of Linton is once again hosting ‘Wacky Races’. This is a biannual event organised by the Crown Inn Linton and includes the involvement many areas of the community. The race involves people of Linton and the surrounding area making and racing homemade carts, no engines allowed! Fancy dress is usually involved with previous years seeing the likes of Posh and Becks, The A Team, Baywatch, farmyard animals and even Dick Dastardly himself! The racers run (or walk!) a course round Linton, starting at the Crown Inn and finishing at the recreational ground, all for Charity.
This years ‘Wacky Races’ is being organised incorporating the President’s Cricket Knockout Tournament at the recreational ground.
So far the ‘Wacky Races’ event has raised more than £15,000 for charities, both local and National. This years benefiting charities will be Cancer research and The Linton Pavilion Improvement Fund.
It is fantastic day, as well as the adults race the day will include entertainment for all the family to enjoy including a hog roast and various stalls at the recreational ground.
This year ‘Wacky Races’ will take place on Sunday 8th August. The race will start at the Crown Inn Linton at 2.30pm with signing in from 2.00pm. The cricket match will stat at 3.00pm at the recreational ground.
